How to make a face mask with odd things in the cupboard

Going shopping is making many people nervous, especially those living in cities.  We are unable to shop for non-food items so one is short of raw materials. I made a face mask with materials that I could find in the house.

This paper face mask appears to be recommended by Chinsese hospitals as nearly as safe as a surgical mask in this video below from Shanghai - though one really needs an N95 mask for real security in a medical situation.  The main point of a mask is to protect others from yourself, which this should do. Clearly, one is not relying on this but on the two metre distance rule and washing hands. See

My final version gives a sense of being shielded all round without being suffocated. One brethese through the paper and it becomes soggy after about 30 mins but that may be enough for a shopping trip.

A key difficulty is not having materials. I had tissues and kitchen paper. In the cupboard, I found double-sided tape. I had some rubber bands and cut several of them (as in the vidoe) and tied  them together to make longer lengths to reach the ears (which worked very well, eventually).
