Photos of spring waking Wakehurst Place today

The surreal "stars" of the delightful 'waking' gardens of the Royal Botanic Gardens at Wakehurst Place today were bright yellow, skunk cabbages (above) with a bright, brazen pheasant walking among them. Also magnificent today were the Himalayan Gardens full of exotic rhododendron blossoms and "Daphne" with its stunning blood-red tree blossom (below).

Magnolia  - "a thing of beauty is a joy forever"

Masses of pale yellow...

This exquisite oriental shaped tree was near the Japanese garden and its japonicas

The sun shines at last....after seven months of gloom....

A willow bower with promise...... but bare as yet!
