Time for Prayer

Psalm 92, which is on the "Book of Common Prayer" Lectionary today here says:

"In His Hand are the depths of the earth;
The heights of the mountains are His also.
The sea is His, for He made it,
And His Hands formed the dry land".

Believers are earnestly pray for help, wisdom, courage and strength for the few brave Japanese fighting to prevent an impending nuclear disaster, and for the suffering people of northern Japan.

If the depths of the Sea of Japan, where this huge earthquake happened and the  monstrous wave which, incidentally was so high that it deposited mud on top of the reactor housings, are in His Hand, rescue is in His Hand too.

Postscript: on 24 March - safety fears suddenly calmed down at these reactors around this time last week. Who knows whether the prayers of the world's millions of Christian had a part in it? We can be sure about one thing: that we are supposed to meditate carefully on the enormous power beyond us which shows up our feebleness. Everything, natural disasters and lucky rescues are all  in His Hands.
