Retracing the life and times of Sir Philip Sidney

Over the summer, we undertook three research tours, looking at locations connected to Sir Philip Sidney, poet, writer, soldier and Christian ideal of Elizabeth 1st's court. They took us to Ludlow Castle, Ludlow parish church, old Shrewsbury School, Padua, Italy where he stayed on his grand tour as a diplomat for Queen Elizabeth, Venice, and finally to Penshurst Place, the Sidney family seat in Kent.
