Doing what one can

I gave a lecture on Priscilla Maurice and on her theology of chronic illness to National Health Service hospital chaplains today at a medieval friary on the old Pilgrims's Way to Canterbury.

We also launched the "Priscillla Maurice" site:

http://priscillamorris.altervista.org

(Sadly we got the spelling of her name wrong on the website's address and cannot easily change it).

It all went very well. One must do as much as one can as an individual to help those who are on the "scrap heap" and have no theology to support them through illness. Later feedback was this: we talked about life as it really is and challenged people's theology.

This was just what Paolo (who helped with my talk) and I had set out to achieve and encouraging in an age that likes only "quick fixes".
