"In Nature's infinite book of secrecy, a little I can read" - William Shakespeare. My older pryings into this "book", can be visited via the link at bottom of this page.

Monday 1 February
We left our London home for the last time, last night and headed to our new home in the lovely English countryside. We were astonished at 9pm to see the Moon which was huge and beautiful, sinking downward over Tonbridge last night, very low in the sky, like a sad face. I thought: this moon is too low to be seen in Italy. What a pity - it is like a sad sweet clown - very Italian. BBC Radio Kent on the car radio was playing tunes of the 1930s. The sad Moon and "Tea for Two and Two for Tea" was very comforting. I went to sleep reading a book on astronomy, which seemed appropriate. There is nothing like seeing the stars through the pristine air at the top of the Julier Pass in Switzerland, but this experience was nearly as good.
